A major investment programme has seen the Beverley campus move into new state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly premises.

The new £14m campus, part of the Flemingate shopping and leisure development, recently opened to students.

The new Beverley campus features 30 teaching rooms with specialist IT and engineering facilities and a large Learning Resource Centre with access to a wide range of digital and printed reference materials.

It also features industry standard hairdressing and beauty therapy salons, a restaurant and a travel agency, which provides realistic training facilities for students and are open to paying members of the public.

Hymers (LRC)

With the inexorable expansion of traditional learning into the virtual world a new Learning Resource Centre at Hymers School was seen as essential to maintain the high standards of its educational buildings.

The aspirations were to preserve some of the traditional aspects of the gymnasium building which was to be retained as a multi-purpose space, complimenting this with a futuristic extension envisioning a vibrant learning atmosphere.

Including a triple atrium learning resource area, IT classrooms, flexible working facilities, break out space and a deli/coffee shop, the building is set to inspire pupils in a love of learning.
